Do you have to be a good swimmer to go scuba diving?
Im going to the Bahamas in 2 weeks and I really want to scuba dive, I need to reserve it ahead of time before it fills up so like today, but I am not the greatest swimmer. I can swim, its just not one of my favorite hobbies, I can swim a few laps but then I get tired and lets just say Im not the best swimmer but I can to save my life so will this be a problem?
For the sake of scubaing when you said you can swim a few laps before getting tired you are more then quilified to go scubaing. I mean its not like you will be working hard and you will have fins on which will help propel you through the water eaisier. I am lifeguard certified and we did a little excersive with all the scuba gear on and even the kids that couldnt swim for their lives did well. the scuba gear will have all the tools you need.
But let me say this, you will be in the best shape of your life when you see a shark comming at you lol

Bahamas Shark Dive on the Aqua Cat
The Aqua Cat live-aboard dive boat features a shark feed and dive on every trip. A member of the crew brings down a frozen 5-gallon fish-cicle that is attached to a coral head. The feeding frenzy begins. I put this video together the evening after the dive for the boat’s Video contest. The problem with a shark feed like this, is that it spoils you for others – it lasts for 20-30 minutes. That’s a long time to grab video and stills.

Get up close with the Remora, as it tries to attach itself to our cameraman. Typically, Remoras like to attach themselves to bigger sea creatures, like sharks, mantas, and whales, so they can get free transportation and protection. Also, it benefits from the left over scaps not consumed by the bigger animal. Free transportation, protection, and food? Nice plan.
However, this Remora tries to attach itself to our cameraman. Notice the suction/gripping area on the topside of the Remora’s head.
It is very hard and extremely painful to remove an attached Remora from bare skin. Fortunately, the cameraman kept the camera between himself and the Remora.
Notice that even after we exit the water, the Remora still pursues us.
